Must Read: Some Romantic Acts of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) some which Muslim Men are not Even Practicing Today

The Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is a mirror, a mentor and a guiding light to all believing men and women. Therefore, we are mandated to follow his teachings and command.

The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) has given us answers to virtually all on the aspects of life be it faith, health, humanity, love/romance and so on.

Today, I'd like to share with us some romantic acts practiced by the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) that most muslims don't practice them in their marital lives or marriages.

Below are some of the Romantic acts practiced by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH):

1. Giving them a beautiful nickname:
The Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) did called his beloved wife Aisha (RA) "Humairaa". Humairaa refers to someone who is very fair in complexion that their skin turns redish when under the sun for sometime (An-Nasaa'i).

2. Going Out to Together:
The prophet (SAW) used to take his wives out for horse riding and some times take them for walks.

3. Kissing Each Other:
The Prophet PBUH do kiss and embrace his wives even whilst fasting and he had more control of desires than any of you (Bukhari Hadith No.: 1927).
It's Halal and Sunnah for you to kiss and hug your wife. What are you waiting for?

4. Cooking for His Spouse:
Unlike some of us today, the Prophet PBUH do cook for his wives and would even clean the house in other for his wives not to stress themselves unnecessarily.
However, most of our various cultures are of the opinion that man cooking for his wives is an abomination. As for me I don't care what people say as long as am doing the right thing.

Even if you don't know how to cook you can at least give her a helping hand once in while or follow her to the kitchen and give her acompany.

5. Laying in Each Others Laps:
According to Aisha (RA), the prophet used to lean on my lap and recite Qur'an whilst I was in menses (Bukhari Hadith No:297).

6. Bathing Together:
The prophet PBUH and his wife Maimuna (RA) do to take bath together in a single container. However, they were scooping the water at the same time.
Note: it's not permissable for one of the couples to bath and remain water for the other. They have to do that at the same time (Bukhari Hadith No:253).

7. Playing Games Together:
According to A'isha (RA), she and the Prophet PBUH do play games together. She said: "I had a race with him (the prophet SAW) and I beat him (Abi Dawud, Hadith No:2578).
How many of you do that with our spouses today?

8. Doing things your Wives Want:
A'isha (RA) was watching the Ethiopians play in the courtyard of the mosque, the Prophet PBUH covered her with his cloak and stayed with her until she wanted leaving the place. Despite how busy the prophet is, he still made time for his wives.
Note: Do what your spouse want as long as it not Haram or harmful to anyone. Doing what she wants is never a weakness it means you love them, value their opinion and care for them.

9. Feeding Your Wife With Your own Hand:
You will be rewarded for whatever you spend for Allah's sake even if it were a morsel you put into your wife's mouth (Bukhari, Hadith 56).
Do use your hands to feed your wife once in while like a baby. She will feel respected and valued. Eat together in the same plate, it boosts your love for each other.

The Prophet (SAW) is an example for us and we all have to emulate his ways of life and inculcate it into our daily lives which is Sunnah and we will never have anything to worry about. However, today we only practice the Sunnah we think is more favourable to us.

Note: This romantic acts contained in this article can be found in many books of Hadith like Sahihul Bukhari, Sunnan Al-Timidhi and Nisaa'i. These books can be consulted for more reference. Please, do consult your scholars as well.

Please, don't just read alone share it with your friends and loved ones.
