Kenneth Omeruo: Is He the Perfect Replacement for Joseph Yobo

WHO IS KENNETH OMERUO?

Kenneth Omeruo is a Super Eagles Defender who is plying his trade with CD Leganes in Spanish Laliga. He was born on the 17th of October 1993. Omeruo is a very strong Nigerian defender loved both by the Super Eagles Fans and that of Leganes for his die hard defending abilities and style of play. You need to see Omeruo in action when he plays; he is ever ready to put his body on the line to prevent a goal from going through his goal post. To make it short, he is like an Eagle and a Warrior on the field of play.

Omeruo was part of the 2019 Nigeria U17 team, 2011 Nigeria U20 contingent.

He was just 19 years of age when he was promoted to the Super Eagles in 2013 by late Stephen Keshi. As a result of his hard work he became former Super Eagles captain’s defensive partner Joseph Yobo in the heart of the Eagles Defence in the 2013 FIFA Confederation’s Cup in Brazil and in the 2013 Nations Cup which they eventually emerged winners. He was also vital to the Super Eagles Team that won Bronze Medal in 2019 Nations Cup in Egypt.

In the 2011/2012 football season, Omeruo was signed by Chelsea Football Club of London, but he never featured for them.
